I like when an online upholstery tutorial tackles a specific problem I hadn’t even thought of before, like this one from The Chronicles of Home on rounded corners.
It’s a great, easy to follow along tutorial with lots of pictures, so if you’ve been looking to tackles something like this, now is your chance! And remember, there are lots of fabrics to choose from in the FWD store for these little projects.
Great round-up from Decoist of DIY upholstery ideas and inspiration. Check out these beauties below and click through here for more!
I love this round up of masculine decor for couples in Rue – I know that is something alot of couples struggle with when they move in together.
The suggestion above is a good one – start neutral and layer in feminine touches. Here are some great fabrics from the FWD Store in this charcoal and gray color palette:
Check out this great children’s chair from the blog The Chronicles of Home.
What a great place for reading! There’s a tutorial here to follow for the frame – Jennifer built the whole chair from soup to nuts, amazing! I love the fabric she chose too – we don’t have anything in the store quite like it but this is a great Kravet fabric.
This makeover of Bri Emery‘s living room by interior designer extraordinaire Emily Henderson has been making the blogosphere rounds, as well it should – take a look at this gorgeousness!
It’s so bright and fun and eclectic – I want everything in the room!
I’ve chosen a textured turquoise fabric for the couch, a blue ikat for the chair, and a blue and ivory fabric for the pillow. Check out the design board below.
This little velvet covered settee was purchased off Craigslist by Jenny of Little Green Notebook.
The old yellow silk upholstery on the frame was in pretty good shape, but the cushion was bad. The fabric was worn completely through and the feather cushion was thinand old, and needed to be replaced.
Her upholsterer quoted her $700 to redo the entire settee, but just to do the cushion (down-wrapped foam) was $250. This is such a great option for beginner DIY upholsterers – especially when you cost out how much new foam and feathers would be to do the cushion yourself. Check out this after:
Jenny has plans to recover the frame but I love this color and fabric combo and I hope she keeps it like this!
This gorgeous red, black and gold Cole and Son wallpaper we currently have in our eBay store is the inspiration for today’s Looks We Love.
Amazing, right?! And here is a fantastic roundup of inspiring red rooms from Sybaritic Spaces that shows this type of wallpaper can be used in offices, powder rooms, and living rooms – anywhere really – to great effect!
Just saw this glorious wingback in a roundup of DIY upholstery on Four Generations, One Roof.
Gorgeous, right?! And in our new arrivals, we just happen to have a beautiful gold toned ikat fabric in stock so you too can recreate this look!
