We are so glad you stopped by! Sometimes we get so busy running our local and online stores that we forget to stop and smell the roses. This blog is such a nice way to write about cool things we find, helpful tips and just have plain old fashioned fun conversation.
To give you a little bit of background, my Dad started Fabric Warehouse about 25 years ago. He worked in the garment center in his 20′s in Manhattan and then decided to open wholesale retail stores when we settled down in New Jersey. At the height of his business, he had nine stores in NJ and Pennsylvania.
As time rolled along, my sister and I grew up, went off to college and ultimately moved to the West Coast. Dad scaled down to three stores and when my own family settled down in Portland, OR, I decided to raise our kids and work with Dad to put his inventory online.
We started out small and put up a bunch of fabric on EBAY for auction. Much to my excitement (Dad was still skeptical of this whole online thing), people loved our fabric! We figured why not start an EBAY store? Well, we still have our EBAY store (http://stores.ebay.com/Fabric-Warehouse-Direct) and now we hung up our own shingle at http://fwdstore.com or http://fabricwarehousedirect.com (whatever’s easiest for you to type!).
We love what we do and hope you like visiting us – either to buy fabric, to read our blog, to visit us on Facebook or to just be part of our FWD community. If you ever have any comments or there is something you’d like to see, drop us a note at email@fabricwarehousedirect.com. We’re excited to get to know better so get in touch!
Thanks for your support,
Valerie

Hi -
I’ve been a customer since the Rahway store was located on 1&9, and I love getting your emails & postcards. Below is a link to one of my recent blog posts, describing my recovered piano bench project. If you use it on your blog, I can definitely use the 40% off coupon for fabric to cover my hallway walls! I live in Rahway, and am an author, designer & instructor specializing in the creative use of African textiles for decorating, quilting, sewing & crafts. Hope to hear from you soon. — lisa
